With over 90% of its native plants found nowhere else in the world, Hawaii is home to an incredible variety of blooms, including Plumeria, Hawaiian Hibiscus, Bird of Paradise, Pikake, Ohia Lehua, and many more.
These flowers aren't just beautiful; they hold deep cultural significance and are integral to Hawaiian traditions, often used in leis and as symbols of love, respect, and affection. On Lei Day, people in Hawaii come together to celebrate their love for nature and the beauty of the Hawaiian Islands. By incorporating handmade flower corsages and intricate floral headpieces into our portraits, we aim to celebrate and preserve this unique aspect of Hawaiian heritage.
